
Here’s a quick guide to making rice in the instant pot!
This rice comes out perfectly every time!
It’s the only way I make it!

Instant Pot Rice

Ingredients
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Cup White Jasmine Rice
- 1/4 tsp Salt (optional)
- 1 TBSP Butter (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse and drain your rice.
- Combine all ingredients in your instant pot.
- Set your instant pot to cook on high pressure for 3 minutes.
- When finished cooking, depressurize your instant pot manually, OR wait for it to depressurize naturally.
- Fluff your rice before serving.
Ingredients:
To make white rice in the instant pot, you will need to use a 1:1 ratio of rice to water.
To cook 1 cup of dry rice, you will need:
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Cup White Jasmine Rice
- 1/4 tsp Salt (optional)
- 1 TBSP Butter (optional)
Instructions:
- Rinse and drain your rice.
- Combine all ingredients in your instant pot.
- Set your instant pot to cook on high pressure for 3 minutes.
- When finished cooking, depressurize your instant pot manually, OR wait for it to depressurize naturally.
- Fluff your rice before serving.
How many cups of rice will there be once it’s cooked?
White rice usually triples in size.
So, if you cook 1 cup of DRY rice, you will have 3 cups of COOKED rice!
What if I want to cook more rice than the recipe?
No worries!
Just add equal amounts of dry rice and water to your instant pot.
So, for example, if you want to cook 2 cups of dry rice, add 2 cups of dry rice and 2 cups of water. (you will have about 6 cups of cooked rice by doing this!)
You’ll still need to cook it for 3 minutes!
Why wash my rice?
Rinsing the rice before cooking it removes some of the starch and helps your rice become nice and fluffy when cooked!
Plus, with a husband who worked years in an industry that sees how our food is handled before going into stores….trust me, just wash it.
